Excitement is building as preparations are underway for the
2005 “Battle at The Bridges”, Monday, July 25.
This is the third and final year the Bridges at Rancho Santa
Fe will host this internationally televised Tiger Woods’ golf
tournament. The one-round, best-ball format will feature Woods and Daly battling against Mickelson and Goosen.
Tom Martin, President of The Bridges Club at Rancho Santa Fe, is delighted that
The Bridges final “Battle” will feature three of golf’s top
5 players: Tiger Woods, Retief Goosen & Phil Mickelson -– along with
the “people’s choice” John Daly. Martin said, “The Bridges
is the perfect setting for the event not only because Mickelson is a Bridges’ member,
but because both Daly and Woods truly enjoy the environment The Bridges offers.” ABC
Sports, in keeping with its recognized Monday Night sports tradition, will once
again broadcast the Lincoln Financial Battle at The Bridges. Coverage from the
first tee will begin on ESPN2 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and will move to ABC Sports
from 5:00-8:00 p.m. ABC is broadcasting the event live for the seventh consecutive
year.

CORTILE COLLECTION WINS FOUR GOLD NUGGETS
FOR EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Inspired Teamwork Pays Off as Honors Include Home and Community
of the Year
Rancho Santa Fe, CA—Proving that great teamwork is the
key to great residential design, The Cortile Collection at The
Bridges in Rancho Santa Fe was the big winner at the recent
Gold Nugget Awards presented during the Pacific Coast Builder’s
Conference in San Francisco. Cortile earned four grand awards
to dominate a field that included the most innovative residential
communities throughout the West.
Renowned as one of the nation’s most prestigious design
competitions, the Gold Nuggets honored Cortile as Detached Project
of the Year and Cortile’s Residence Three as Home of the
Year—the best-in-show award. Additionally, Residences
Two and Three took top honors in their respective size categories,
and Residence One was a Merit Award winner in the category won
by Residence Two.
The Cortile Collection and the magnificent golf resort community
of The Bridges are being developed by HCC Investors, a partnership
between Lennar Communities and Briarwood Development.
According to Tom Martin, vice president of Lennar Communities,
The Cortile Collection was created on a very tight schedule
through the mammoth efforts of a brilliant design team: Bassenian/Lagoni
Architects, Greystone Homes as general contractor, landscape
architect Pinnacle Design, Steve Wolff & Associates for
interior plantscapes, Pacific Dimensions for interior design,
San Dieguito Engineering, and Ken Ayers, director of development
for The Bridges community.
“The Cortile Collection is a prime example of what can
be achieved within a virtually impossible time frame when some
of the most talented people in our industry join together with
a common goal,” Martin said. “We started with a
strong vision for this very special neighborhood and its showcase
model complex, and it became a labor of love for everybody involved.
The results are truly remarkable.”
Noted Bob Jackson, The Bridges’ marketing director,
Cortile is following in the footsteps of the same team’s
highly honored The Villas at The Bridges, which won a Grand
Award and three Merit Awards at the Gold Nuggets two years ago.
The spacious clubhouse at The Bridges’ 10,000-square-foot
Sports Centre was also a previous Gold Nugget Award recipient,
winning in the category of Best Public/Private Recreational
Facility.
With prices starting from the mid-$2 millions, The Cortile Collection
is a limited edition of only 44 single-level and two-story estate
residences on homesites averaging one-half acre. Since full-yard
landscaping, including pools, is part of every home purchase,
each residence has a one-of-a-kind ambiance that contributes
to the neighborhood’s Tuscan hillside aesthetic. Home
interiors range from approximately 4,300 to 5,300 square feet.
Huge courtyards and other outdoor living areas are an integral
part of each home, with abundant French doors and transitional
spaces like sheltered loggias connecting virtually every room
either physically or visually to a courtyard. The homes’
old-world, built-over-time quality provides the feeling that
they have always been a part of the landscape.
In addition to The Cortile Collection residences, half-acre
to three-acre custom homesites are available at The Bridges,
priced from $1.5 million. Custom estate residences sized from
approximately 6,000 to 9,000 square feet are selling from $3.5
million.
Gated for privacy, the Bridges’ abundantly landscaped
500+ acre site will eventually encompass only 250 homes nestled
above the exclusive Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe. Residents can
take advantage of resort-caliber amenities including the ultimate
fitness and spa facilities of The Sports Centre; fine dining
and casually elegant socializing at the 36,000-square-foot,
Tuscan-style Bridges Clubhouse; and the magnificent 18-hole
golf course that is home to the Lincoln Financial Battle at
The Bridges, an internationally televised golf event.
