Tennis & Rec Centre Update

Hello ,

The Tennis and Recreation Centre is open from 8:00AM-4:30PM daily. Courtside Cafe is open Friday-Saturday from 11:30am-3:30pm.

Reading becomes social and fun when you join the TRC Book Club at The Bridges. The group meets every 4-6 weeks depending on the book of choice. This month we are reading “The Huntress” by Kate Quinn. We will be meeting at the TRC on Tuesday, January 21st at 6:00PM for a discussion. Call or email the Tennis and Recreation Centre to RSVP today.

Attention all Members; The Tennis and Recreation Centre will be opening a Mexican food restaurant “Courtside Cantina” starting in February. Come enjoy samples of our new menu, a live mariachi band, a margarita station and s’mores station on Saturday, February 1st from 4:00PM-6:00PM. Our restaurant will open for regular dining service beginning Friday, February 7th. Operating hours will be lunch Friday-Sunday 11:00AM-2:30PM and Monday’s and Tuesday’s dinner service from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Can’t wait for you all to try the best Mexican food in town. Please call the Tennis and Recreation Centre to make a reservation or if you have any further questions.

Doggies and Donuts
is a fun way to gather on the 1st Saturday of every month at the TRC dog park for a monthly morning doggie social hour. Enjoy fresh donuts and coffee and special treats for your four-legged best friend. This event is on Saturday, February 1st at 10am.

Calling kids of all ages and their families to come enjoy several design stations complete with instruction and supplies to create the perfect Valentines gifts for classmates, family and friends. Our Valentine Card Making event will take place at the TRC on Friday, February 7th at 5:30PM.

We hope to see you soon!

Tennis Tip of the Week

Pull back on your serve speed.

The serve is the most important shot in tennis, but that doesn’t mean you should wail on the ball at all cost to the rest of your game, Sell says. “I feel like amateurs try to go out and hit serves as hard as they can, at 100 percent velocity,” he says. “But pros go after 80 percent [speed] and placement. They set up their first shot.” Sell says amateurs should focus on accuracy during their serves, considering any extra speed or spin as added bonuses.
